This is footage from one of the Primary School tournaments that were held at Ripon Grammar School, the National Centre of Excellence. This was in the days of the School Sports Partnership. Helen Mackenzie, the Director of Sport for Ripon Schools used to run about 30 festivals per year for the different sports. She would get 3, 5, 8 teams. When she ran the VX tournaments she got between 18-21 teams. One little rural primary school once sent 8 teams. Teachers loved VX for its inclusivity, for its gender-neutrality and its accessibility.
